Wiz Khalifa is currently on a worldwide tour but recently has been around the United States. His upcoming shows include the Exhibition Hall in Springfield Massachusettes on February 19th, he goes to West Virginia which is very close to my home town on February 25th, a concert that i am very interested in and could possibly attend. Then he has somewhat of a break until March 5th where he plays at Club 935 in Charlotte, North Carolina, that concert will definetly not dissapoint.


New Music


Terrace Martin is back with yet another single that features Wiz Khalifa. Kendrick Lamar also appears on “Do It Again” which is off of Terrace’s album Locke High 2 dropping October 24th. A few unknown rappers that make a good collaboration with the help of Wiz.

Wiz Khalifa just let off a new freestyle over the Meek Mill song "House Party". Wiz turns it into a freestyle that he named "Rich People!" This was the second song of the day that he dropped. The other was "Dessert" Wiz Khalifa does a really good job over the beat made by Wale called "Bait."

 

Who is at the top?

Nowadays there is a lot of debate over who is the top hip hop artist right now. Most people would argue that Marshall Mathers otherwise known as Eminem is still the best artist out there. A big number are lil wayne fans, and believe that he is at the top. Wiz Khalifa in my opinion is the best taking off right now, he has been the best artist and has passed up what anyone would consider a sucessful life. At the moment he hasn't been as active about releasing mixtape after mixtape, but on the other hand eminem hasn't came out with anything major since his Recovery album. The greatest thing he accomplished as far as popularity goes was Lighters that featured Royce da 5'9 from Slaughterhouse and Bruno Mars. That song was just a song that he wanted to make money on. That is not how eminem got famous and i really miss the way that eminem used to rap before he got famous and sold out. Lil Wayne is not the best either because just like Eminem Lil wayne completely changed the way he played his music after the riches. Wiz khalifa isnt overall better than Eminem, and to be honest its not even close. But as of right now, I think Wiz Khalifa has had success with his recent albums, not changing his music because of his fame. He definetly has changed since he became a star but he hasn't really changed what made him famous and thats why i like what Wiz has been doing. He is still touring everywhere he is currently on a tour that features his home town Pittsburgh, Germany, Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin.

Latest on Wiz

Wiz Khalifa is currently working on a creating a movie, the idea for the movie is based on the song Young, Wild, and Free a song that features Snoop Dogg. The song is about living up your childhood because its the best time you can have because thats the only time you are really free. The Soundtrack for the movie "High School" is scheduled to release on December 6th.

Wiz attended the BET awards on the 12th where he was nominated for 9 awards and won 2 awards one of which was the Rookie of the Year and Track of the Year which was Black and Yellow. Wiz Khalifa and his followers are going in the right direction and are starting to make history in the music industry.

On October 6th, Wiz Khalifa and the Taylor Gang performed in Toronto, Canada on the latest stop of his “Rolling Papers World Tour“. Wiz performed along side Chevy Woods and played in front of a sold out crowd.

What is Taylor Gang?

                 The most famous question of lately for wiz is what Is Taylor Gang? As Wiz would say in a few words, “Taylor Gang is a lifestyle”. Taylor Gang is often associated with the famous Chuck Taylor Converse shoes, which Wiz is famously known for wearing or the school where Wiz Khalifa started this movement his high school was named Taylor Allderdice High School. But if you ask the leader of the Taylor Gang nation himself, he will tell you it is a massive movement. Taylor Gang is being comfortable with yourself and what your doing, essentially being who you are and being content with it.  

                  The leader of Taylor Gang, Wiz Khalifa says that the whole concept of Taylor Gang is for the fans and supporters of Wiz Khalifa, without his fans and supporters he would've never gotten anywhere and wouldn't be where he is today. He also says in an interview about what Taylor Gang is, and he tells the reporter that all of his fans celebrate being together almost as a unity as being members of the Taylor Gang. So dont forget, TAYLOR GANG OR DIE!

1.) This Plane
     
         This plane is the number one song on the list because this song represents what Wiz Khalifa is about. He talks about how he is going to do what he has to do no matter what people think of him. This song was also on the album "Deal or no Deal," which personally is my favorite album and this is before Wiz got very famous and he was performing music majorly for his pleasure, passion for music, and to make it to the top. 


2.) Black & Yellow


     Wiz had good luck with releasing 'Black and Yellow' at the same time the Pittsburgh Steelers were making a run in the NFL playoffs. Steeler fans adopted the song as the team marched toward the Super Bowl, and Khalifa found himself performing at Heinz Field during a playoff game. The rapper's first major-label single, 'Black and Yellow' also served to introduce Wiz to the mainstream music world. Before long, the song was No. 1 on Billboard.


3.) Oh My (feat. Fabolous & DJ Drama)


      Wiz created a song that features Fabolous as well as DJ Drama who are both famous and successful which brings some extra stardom to this track. In the song Fabolous has a line where he says "like LeBron i'm taking my talents down to south beach." They performed in Cleveland at Z107.9's Summer Jam and surprised the fans with this song and even changed the lyrics to the song about LeBron because of Clevelands uneasiness with LeBron James

4.) The Race


          Lots of rappers like to brag about their money, but Wiz did on 'The Race'. The song is about his experience starting from the bottom and working his way up, overcoming challenges and doubters along the way. “I’m in a race, and taking the winner's place,” he raps. “No foot on the brakes. It’s lonely at the top, ain't no company so now I just stunt on my own."

5.) Say Yeah


        Say Yeah was Wiz Khalifas first single, this actually featured Eurodance elements, which is a techno-like electronic dance music. The New artist raps about living large and spending his money just as fast as he got it. This track was released in 2008 and was the only really notable track for Warner Bros. who was Khalifas first deal he got signed too. This was the first song by Wiz that i ever heard and has turned me and im sure others in to Wiz Khalifa fans.

Biography

Cameron Jibril Thomaz, also known as Wiz Khalifa was born on September 8th, 1987 in Minot, North Dakota. He is a rapper out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although he grew up in Pittsburgh Wiz Khalifa lived in Germany, England, and Japan before moving to pennsylvania, aside from North Dakota where he was born. The name Wiz Khalifa came from the arabic meaning of "khalifa" which is successor, and wisdom was shortened to "Wiz". The first deal to set his career off was with Warner Brother Records in 2007, and the first major single by Wiz was "say yeah", and it received radio airplay across the nation. Say Yeah reached the billboard top 100 and the rhythmic top 40 and hot rap tracks in 2008. After, Khalifa left Warner Brothers and released his second album Deal or No Deal. The most popular song by Wiz Khalifa was Black and Yellow, which peaked at number 1 on the Billboard hot 100, the song refers to the colors of the Pittsburgh Steelers and shows his recognition to the city of Pittsburgh where he was raised....even though everything that has to do with Pittsburgh is stupid, Wiz is an exception. Wiz has established his skill and fame in the music world, and has recently signed with Atlantic Records. Wiz Khalifas has a huge fan base that follow Wiz and his music and they refer to themselves as the Taylor Gang, Wiz Khalifa raps to anyone that is willing to listen to him and has already made huge steps towards stardom such as winning BET's best new artist of 2011.
